Montego Bay's own rising star Mad dog just shot the video for his new singel "Early Morning".. The video was shot in jamaica and was directed by Nicholas King of Live Wire Media House Productions.

We caught up with him while he was preparing for the St James High school tour concert to ask him a few questions about life, the new silgle and his plans for the future.


•  Are you signed to any labels?

Currently I'm unsigned but Im working with a team towards that.

•  Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Hanover spring field then I left to St Ann and now I'm presently in Montego Bay where I currently reside.

•  How long have you been in the business:

well I have been in the business for some time now

•  What influenced your music career?

Well it's an in inborn thing that begun with singing in the church

•  How would you define your style of music?

It's a cross breed of reggae, soca and R&B that describes my style.

•  Who are your biggest music influences?

Aaron Neville and Glen Graham

•  What would you say is your most memorable moment in the business?

My first time performing on Reggae Sumfest and my first tour in the Bahamas

•  Who are your listeners?

Both young and old because my style is different and it appeals right across the board.

•  How far do u think your music has reached?

Right across the globe

•  What do think about music industry?

I think we need more producers in Montego Bay that is one big thing that is lacking. We also need more investment in the music so it can grow farther.

•  What influenced the track early morning?

I was in Barbados one Friday night getting ready to go to the club, while watching some dutty Friday DVDs my ex girlfriend asked ,what time are you going to the party? and I replied, it makes sense we go at three that's when hyper dog begins to play because he plays a wide variety of dancehall tracks, so she then said that will be in the morning, so I said yeah go and sleep I will wake you up, then it hit me and I said early morning when u juss wake up take the dance floor like a wuk u a wuk and she said that is crap madd dogg and that made me kind a upset at first then she came back downstairs and said she was only kidding, so I began to write the song ,after that I called the engineer Terry Dog and told him I found a bad song with a bad melody and we need to hit the studio, I spoke with the engineer gave him a feel for the right beat and the rest is history.

•  Tell us about the new video?

Well it was directed by Nicholas King from Barbados for Live Wire Media House Productions. The video contains lots of girls and new dance actions, trust me it's very entertaining to watch, I hope you enjoy watching.

•  Is there anything else in store for the fans?

I have two new singles “ wine it wine it bounce pan it” and “ in deh in deh”
